I've just checked the dell order status for my Dell 1520 and discovered that it has been pushed back till 17 september when the order date was 23rd July.
I'm thinking of just cancelling it frankly, but I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this type of long delay, cause it seems a bit out of order to me.

Yep. I'm with you. I ordered mine on July 24. Went into 'production' on the 27th. Estimated delivery date of Aug 20. When I placed the order he said there was a 9 day delay - no problem. I call back a week later and all of a sudden it's 25 days! Then I call the next day and it's 24. I've so far gotten 20, 18, 11, 21, and right now it's sitting at 18. (Remember these are business days)
So, supposed to arrive on the 20th now they say first week of sept. I'm getting mine redirected because I'm flying out before it's new delivery date. I was hoping to watch a movie on the flight on my new laptop but nope. Good old magazine for me...
I called again today and they finally gave me a reason for the delay. Apparently their supplier for the coloured microsatin skins is not filling orders fast enough. If you get the black or white, you get your laptop fast. If you get a colour, you're getting delayed. Of course it's too late to change it. I saved $500 on my laptop so I thought about cancelling but there's no better deal anywhere. So, I wait...with you and everyone else who thought they'd get their laptop sometime this year.
