ok I want to be able to play battlefield 2 on med-high sttings, and was wondering if getting the xps with 7800 go gtx 256mb, 60 gb hd(7200 rpm), 1gb ram with intel pentium m760 with (2ghz?) 2mb cache 533mhz fsb (mainly looking at the 2 ghz) will it play fine? Is the 2 ghz enough for this laptop and the game? Also one last question is it safe to buy this on ebay new? I have found it for 1600.

Battlefield 2 benefits from 2gbs of RAM, but you should have no problems with the 7800 GTX.

you should be able to play mostly high settings with a 7800GTX as far as i know. I'm actually thinking about buying nearly the same set-up on ebay. There's lots of good deals since they introduced the M1710. But i'm torn between the m170 and e1705.

yea so you think 2 ghz is enough for the newest games?
are you able to upgrade the ghz later on in the xps? -

According to performance at 2.0 Pentium M does the same amount of work as a P-4 3.6Ghz. The P-M does alot more work per clock cycle than the P4.
So if a game says it requires a P4 with 2.4GHZ or higher than you just take your P-M clockspeed (2.0GHZ x 1.8 = 3.6Ghz P4). That is the easiest thing.
Very rarely is the Processor speed the hold-up when gaming. The RAM, Videocard and Hard-drive are usually the biggest hang ups.
Hope this helped! -
yes that helped alot! very clear now.
