Hi, i've got an inspiron 1545 which I bought second hand 6 months ago. Up to today it has been working flawlessly. I was using it today and it seemed to slow down considerably so I decided to reboot ( i dont think this has anything to do with my problem though).
All I get now is a completely blank screen (also blank monitor screen if that is plugged in) and 2 consecutive beeps with a 3 second gap. The fan and drive come on for a split second before the beeps and then stop. The beeps continue until you power off.
I have tried booting from mains and battery, removing ram strips and re seating, removing hard drive, trying all combinations of the above with no luck at all. I believe the beeps to be an error code for faulty ram? Also I have heard that it could be a cmos battery fault ?
Can anyone shed any light on this?

    TIA

2 beeps is No RAM Detected and is either a Memory failure or a Memory Slot failure. Try one stick at a time in one slot at a time. Otherwise try known good RAM
