I (well, my father) ordered an Inspirion 15 on August 18th, and the EDD was Sept 4th. I STILL do not have my laptop. The order status webpage has not changed since the day it was ordered. It still says in production and the same EDD. Since then, we have not been contacted by Dell once. Soon after Sept 4th we called customer service and was told that it would be another week, and then another week, and then two weeks, and so on. And no one could give any reason for the delay. I assume it might be because of the colour (blossom pattern) as it is now removed from the website. If I can figure that out I'm sure they know what it happening. If it is the colour, I should have been told upon ordering of the delay. Even if the circumstances did not come up until after the order was placed, at least they could have told me there is going to be a wait, and gave me the option to change the colour. Since then there are cheaper and better versions of my laptop available, so I better receive compensation if I ever get my laptop. It has come so far that I don't even care about the horrible customer service anymore, I just want my laptop (in blossom!). If I have to change colours I hope to at least get a better one for free, since I could have had it months ago if I was told of the colour issues. But Dell has still not even confirmed what the problem is. We were supposed to be contacted by Dell in the past two days, but that hasn't happened. Tomorrow my dad is calling Dell and if nothing can be resolved, he is cancelling the order. I hope it doesn't come to that, especially since it would have been a 2 month wait for nothing. Is anyone else having this problem or have any idea of what is going on?

I had the EXACT issue, to the T. Ordered Inspiron 15 with blossom....I called them and after the BS they said it was postponed at the building stage, so I canceled. They are out of the pattern and from what I have read, others with the same experience, will not be getting more. The good news is, that I got a way better deal using a coupon a bit a go. Sorry about the bad news and gl.

Becuase of EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND Dell have MAJOR delays on all off their laptops right now. My XPS was late and I had similar issues.

i been waiting a month for my laptop, File a BBB complaint and you will get a executive customer releations who will help you out

I managed to get the color changed yesterday to the chill pattern, and they promised it was available and I would have my laptop in 7-10 days. I just checked the dell website and in the order configuration, the chill pattern has now been removed as an option as well! If that's also backordered now I must have the worst luck in the world.
