    Hey Guys
This is my first post ever on this website so excuse the complete and utter noob-ness.

My query is whether i can install this (Western Digital Scorpio Blue 1TB 5200rpm SATA Internal Hard Drive)

Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD10TPVT 1TB 5200 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

    in my Dell Studio 1555.

Ive read all the specs and its a 9.5" so it should fit fine. Currently my laptop is running a 500GB WD internal HDD. (Dont know the exact model but i believe its one from the same "Scorpio Blue" Series). Just wondering if the BIOS might throw up issues of some sort or some other problems that i cant currently foresee.

    Thanks guys!

    Hi,

In addition to katalin_2003's comment, the studio 1555 was designed and shipped with the maximum hard drive capacity of 600GB with 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM. We have not tested the 1TB hard drives on it.

    Thanks and regards,

It doesnt matter, there is no limit for hard disk size unlike that of RAM for the OS or the chipset or the BIOS . More capacity for the drive does not matter in ANY Manner.

drive is too tall to fit in machine if you check the specs to what you link it says height is 12.5mm. Capacity does not matter as that is handled by the controller and O/S.

height specs can be confirmed at WDC.com here
