I've been having occasional issues with my laptop when it is running on battery. Sometimes the laptop will just power off like I pulled the battery, and the hard drive will make 1 click sound. Some times I can power the laptop on fine, other times it will get 1 minute into using it and it will do it again, other times I barely make it past the BIOS before it clicks off.

It is very strange, my battery will have plenty of charge, and I might go weeks of running off battery off and on before it happens again. Also Windows Event Viewer does not list any events except for the "Kernel power" stating the system was not shutdown cleanly. Any one have any idea's? I've engaged Dell support and had me run the diagnostic test (without it detecting anything).

I've not had that problem with my 7720. Could be a problem with your battery.

I had a problem with mine only charging to 86 so I removed the battery, cleaned the connections and reseated thhe battery, and it charged to 100.
