17R 5720 subwoofer sounds like the ocean, is there a fix beyond sending back?

It's intermittent but annoying, is there any fix for this? Is there a way to disable and turn OFF the subwoofer?

Found this post on Dell Forums:

    http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3517/t/19480339.aspx

I had a noise problem on my notebook that apparently was caused by the charger bleeding through the subwoofer speaker. I never found out if this was a bad charger or a problem on the motherboard. I just returned it for a compete replacement and the new unit works great. The sound/interference noise definitely comes from the charger when it is charging the battery.

Makes me wonder if I need to return it and get another outlet unit...Or what? Any advice appreciated, it WAS charging the battery when it made this noise....

Edited to add: Called Dell tech Support and they want me to update the BIOS, as it's burning the recovery discs right now i can't, but I will and hopefully that will take care of it, we'll see. If anyone has any input on this I'd sure be happy to hear it. :)

Edited again because I don't want to spam the thread: Dell Support is going to send a tech out with a new Motherboard, Speakers and Charger adapter and hopefully things will be resolved. It's great they will send someone out, but I am kind of worried the tech might mess up the chassis or keyboard or SOMETHING...UGH! So worried. I want it to work right, you know? I am probably not going to do much working on it until it's dealt with because who knows if I'll be keeping it or not at this point....

Just wanted to post that this has been resolved with the speakers, motherboard and power charger cord all being replaced. Took about an hour but the tech was great, didn't mess up things at all. :) So if you had this trouble see about getting it fixed, this is a great computer! :) Very happy now. :D

Edited to add: And NO, this isn't an April Fool's post....LOL! I really AM pleased. :D
