    1737 screen in vostro 1720

    hi. can anyone help me. i have a dell vostro 1720 but the scren has gone. i manage to find a screen for studio1737 but i do not know if it is compatible?
    will this work in my 1720? will i need to use the inverter for 1737 or can i keep mine in? thank you

    Both are 16:10 and 1440x900 so the panel should fit and LVDS cables are somewhat standard, but the routing of the LVDS cable in the Vostro 1720 and the Studio 1737 are completely different.

    As you can see the Studio 1737 LVDS cable comes from the right..

    And the Vostro 1720 LVDS cable is from the left. Unlikely to work.

    thanks- can i just connect my cables on to the panel screen and avoid using the cables from the 1737?
