    hey, i wanna add an 80 gigs harddrive that i already own to my 1720, but im currently living in the middle east and there is no way to order parts.

    i have an inspiron 600m, would the interposer (slot adapter) work in the 1720? what about the caddy, can i do anythin about it???

    Well, I think the interposer is the same for all the hard drives. I guess if you can't order parts, your best bet is to measure the slot and try to make your own caddy. That is if you have any idea how to work with metal.
