i just received my new inspiron 1720 today... vista home, wuxga, geforce 8600gt.... everytime i reboot the resolution reverts to 1024x768 and i have to go into settings and change it back... i did a search and didn't find anything but im hoping this is a common (read: easy to fix) problem and someone here can quickly tell me how to fix it.... oh, and ignore the system in my sig, that was a short lived phase and its good to be back...

weird. is windows shutting down properly?

try setting the resolution, shutting the computer completely off, then starting it back up again.
