hello,
ive got XP Pro on my Dell 1720 and i think it was the greatest thing ive done to my laptop so far, its like 10x faster and 100% compatible with everything, less slowdowns less issues and less clicking buttons to get things done!!!
however there this issue ive been having, when resuming from standby wether on or off AC it does not resume, what happends is after i press the power button, it tries to power up, all lights go on, but instead the screen just stays blank and there is no way for a ctrl+alt+del or anything, i have to press the power button for 5 seconds so it could shut down.
i have tried narrowing down the issue as im good at narrowing down things, but i have failed this time.... ive tried changing power schemes in control panel > power options, ive tried uninstalling quickset, ive tried changing settings in the BIOS to no avail.....
ive downloaded a couple hotfixes from microsoft, KB923232 and KB815304 that deals with the resume from standby issue also no result...
BIOS is A09, graphics card driver is up to date (180.4?) i dont think its a sound card driver issue though... any thoughts?
the only thing im worried about is if i had some document open in word or any office application and i did NOT save it... then you know i would lose it!
anyone having this problem or anyone knows whatsup??
