OK I've had the 1720 for a few weeks now and a few times already, when I try to hibernate, it takes forever and I end up turning it off manually by pressing the power button and leaving it pressed. It happened again last night and I didn't wanna keep waiting, I had to get to bed.
So I ended up doing a hard shutdown again, which is not good. I had to restore all my apps which is a pain in the ass obviously.
I hate Windows Vista already with a passion. There are so many things wrong with Windows Explorer, and performance wise I am not impressed at all. I got 2 gigs of memory which isn't great, but it's pretty good. Yesterday I had Photoshop running and a few other apps, and I couldn't preview pictures from Windows Explorer! And I have an nVidia 256 MB 8600M GT card.
On that note, what's a good replacement for Windows Photo Gallery. All I wanna do is view and browse through my pictures - I hate how you can't even change the settings so that it doesn't load videos too. I have a video player for that, Microsoft! You goddamn *#&@!#$@%$... Vista sucks!

Same thing happens to me. I'm looking into it myself. I have XP and Vista on mine and it only happens in Vista.

Thanks for the reply. We have pretty much the same computer BTW... I'm loving mine but Vista is really driving me nuts. Also the fact that nView isn't available for Vista is really infuriating. Way to go nVidia!
Again if anyone knows why this happens, please let us know.
