Just got the laptop a week ago. Love it.

Only problem I've had so far is with the use of decent quality headphones, I experiance what sounds like a low level beeping, or buzzing sound with some static. Thats with no music, or audio being played. Just plugged in and turned on.

Sometimes it perodically (for a second, or two seconds most) stops, then starts again.

It doesn't do this with the speakers, only headphones.

    Any suggestions?

Yes, search the Dell forum for "headphone" or "buzz" (thread title only). Plenty of threads on the topic, some with potential solutions (dependent on model).
