1720 Espresso Brown

It seems like a lot of Midnight Blue 1720/1's are going out recently. Has anyone ordered a Brown 1720/1 and had it go past build?

 

I ordered my expresso brown 1720 on 7/31/07 and, its pretty much the same as yours, its scheduled to ship on 9/4/07. Hopefully it comes sooner. My wife is having a c section on the 10th, so I may hae to leave the hopsital for a few hours to catch the delivery guy...

tehkurt, I orderd my espersso brown 1720 on July 20th and was told the same thing. Shipped by 27 or 28 with the addition of 2 days to Canada for shipping. I sure hope it comes then. I'll be off to school and need it end of the month at the latest. I have hope for both of us. People seem to be getting 1720's as of late. Plus we both order over a month ago, so I sure hope it holds true.

FWIW, my order status page says the 1420 shipped today.

 

Yeah, we have seen a few 1420 and 1520 recently. No 1720s though. I don't imagine brown to be very popular, so demand could not be the cause.

Update: Just chatted with CSR to clarify the inaudible part of my voicemail and he clarified that LCD AND the brown color lid are backordered. When I asked whether he means to say that 1920x1200 displays are backordered, he said YES.

 

I'm pink... sorry for hopping into ur brown thread... but I am a 1720... pink 1520s go out quickest (maybe 4-5 weeks) 1420s go out next (5-6 weeks) and 1720/21s like me.... still waiting.... why is it that the larger screens have the largest delays and I called yesterday and they said they have all my back ordered parts but that my laptop just needs painting.... they also said Pink, Yellow, and Green were there most ordered colors which is why those have the biggest delay... (i thought red and blue would be the most common orders)... Good luck to you browns... if any of you get ur 1720s post it so I can have some hope... today is my 50 day anniversary

 

I expected brown to be a popular choice, so I thought that might be the source of the earliest delay. I have found that to be very wrong, it seems like it is about the least ordered of all colors.

I called last night and was given a service tag # (whatever that might mean) & told that mine was in boxing & 3-4 days from shipping. Sure it is...

 

Klondike, what screen resolution do you have ?

 

this is weird. but(i know i am not brown, but red has a longer delay)i ordered a red 1720 on aug 7th and it shipped yesterday, while you guys are waiting longer than me for a less delayed color.

 

Anti-glare, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900) - ordered that one because the salesperson said there would be a delay on the high resolution display & I didn't need it that much. If I had known it was going to be delayed this long anyway, I would have ordered the high res.

 

according to the rop I spoke to last night Yellow, Green, and Pink were the most ordered colors and have the biggest delays.
