    Congratulations, dude.

I ordered a new Vostro 1500 yesterday, and it's allready been dispatched - estimated delivery date 30/11. Not bad running at all, so far... after all the months of procrastination & research, I can't wait (especially as I don't have a decent working computer at the moment).

    Congratulations on your new machine.

I assume that you're running Windows Vista?
If so, have a look at flamenko's Top Windows Vista Tweaks You Can Find .
If you use Windows XP, have a look at bootleg2go's How to Optimize a Notebook Computer guide.

Since you'll play video games on your machine, it's a good idea to monitor your CPU, HDD and GPU temperatures. See Gophn's Monitoring Notebook Temps topic to find out how.

You should also have a look at the Battery Guide for some information on how your battery works and some maintenance tips.

And to end it all, Chaz's Guide to Cooling Down Your Notebook Computer will also be helpful.

All those guides will give you lots of information on how to tweak and maintain your new notebook.
