Someone raised the question on another board (mods, please merge threads if necessary) of whether the VRAM on the 1720s is DDR2 or DDR3. I realized when I read that post that all of the "Dell is using DDR2" postings I've seen have been for the 1520. Does anyone know whether Dell is stepping up to the plate and using DDR3 for the 1720 (or, for that matter, the Vostro 1700)?

The German website clearly says GDDR2. It was changed recently and before it was confusing like the info about the 1520. I assume they checked their facts and corrected it.

I guess with HP, their main competitor, offering the 8600 GS, Dell feels like they can cut some corners on the 8600 GT. Can't say I blame them.

It is most definitely DDR2...

Thanks, guys.
