Greetings,
I've got a 1705e with 2 batteries, and 2 AC adapters, the problem i'm faced with is the battery will not always charge, where the power icon in windows shows that it's plugged in. I swap out the AC adapter, and the battery starts to charge.
Has anyone else had this problem? Should I buy another AC adapter? A New battery? Or could the problem be something else?
TIA!!

charging problems are often a bad motherboard.
edit:
You will know if the battery and ac adapter are good if the bios recognizes them. If not then its whatever one it is not recognizing. if it is still not charging while it recognizes that they are there in the bios, then it is a bad motherboard. At least this is from my experience repairing dell laptops. -
usually the power connector form the jack to motherboard is loose you could send it to be repaired or i remeber seeing a thread on how to fix it tr thtas of nw i just cant seem to find it
ro else you could send it for reapir IF it is still underwarrany -
I have the same issue: a 1705 that doesn't charge when plugged into the AC adapter. Do you get any kind of pop-up when you do it? Something about the adapter not being 90W?
If you do, and it charges fine with another adapter then it's likely your adapter is busted and not your MB or BATT. Sometimes I plug mine in and it works fine, but most of the time it just powers the machine but doesn't charge it, so I use my husband's adapter and it always works great.
1705e does not charge bettery
