The computer I used to compare is my inspiron 8600 15"
I didn't know how to turn off the flash in my moms camera best I could do is low flash with lights out for screen.

4 GIG OF RAM! 240GB HD! You maxed out that Vostro.

Did you order all those parts from Dell or did you purchase somewhere else and install yourself?

Cause that would cost you some 2800$.

If you didn't get the 64 bit OS then that 4 gb of RAM will go to waste, but since you did get it i'll assume you know what you were doing

Man! How much is it? I think the build quality is not as good as HP dv series.

Thats screen res looks nice, what res is it? Would you be able to play games like HL2 and WoW at that res? 'Cos it looks ideal for me. Also, at that res I could possibly run Cubase.

Well i personally think that the dv series looks better but they all made mostly of plastic and the new inspiron series is mag alloy...i also played around with a frens dv 25xx and well i thought that though the dells were a lot thicker.. it would probably last longer... and stay cooler

This build was about $2200 before tax and shipping about $2400 after.

I did not get the 64-bit os because I read that people have a lot more trouble with programs being compatible. I am very happy with my 3.5 gb ram on the 32-bit os for the time and can upgrade the os later if I choose to.

I am not sure what the screen res was at when I was taking the pictures. Never thought to check. My guess is that it was the max it can do 1920x1200. I will check this when I get home today
