i think i may just say forget the 1500 IF the 1700/1720 screens are not having issues?? i wanted a 17" to start with and maybe this is a sign to go ahead. it would at this time cost me about 200$ more for what i want in it..

ill pay the difference no problem but oly if they dont have the bad quality control on the screens. so who has a 17" and what kinds of issues do you have or do you not have..???

actually id be glad to go another brand right now but i cant get what i want in it for near the same price ive been looking everywhere.. id look to any other brand at this point.. thanks in advance

I have the WUXGA screen. The screen looks great. No dead pixels and it's not grainy at all. There is reflection, but I can tune it out. If you're going to be outside a lot the glossy screen could be a problem. I don't use a computer outside, so it's not an issue for me.

There is a bit of back light bleeding in at the bottom of the screen. It's not enough for me to replace the screen over. I've seen much worse bleeding before.

It's a great screen and a great notebook. Dell can be a PITA to deal with, but we all pretty much know that.
