It pisses me off how dell doesn't offer a glossy WXGA+, or atleast a glossy WSXGA+. I am a blind guy and i cant stand WUXGA, but i love glossy. Is there any way to get it with a glossy wxga+?

Check out the Lenovo N100. 15.4" wsxga+ (1680 x 1050) for $900 CDN, that's like $800 US (ish)? As glossy as they come...

You might want to look at the HP dv8000t/dv9000 as an alternative option. They cost more than a comparable E1705/I9400 though, especially with Dell's coupons.

I was thinking that the 7600 on the DV9000 Might Not be enough.

I'm sorry to hear that :( Unfortunately, you'll have to go for the WUXGA if you want glossy, or replace the standard screen on the notebook with your own. Southern Girl on the Dell forum did the same thing - you may want to contact her.

I think you can find what you are looking for at this website http://www.screentekinc.com/. They sell all kinds of replacement screens in glossy and non glossy. Hope this helps.

mmm... why not just increase DPI on WUXGA? You can make text and icons look as big as you want....

Well, it does help in increasing text size, but it also distorts/oversizes desktop icons, which can get pretty annoying after awhile.

you can also adjust text size alone if you want w/o touching icon size (or change icon size separately)
