is there a real big difference? I have the 1680x1050, but I am thinking about sending my laptop back to get it to 1440x900. Don't get me wrong the screen is excellent for video gaming and watching videos ect. However, I have a real problem not being able to see my websites in its true form. Thus it makes it hard to do any real updating for pictures ect. So I was wondering how good is the 1440x900 screen? Will video games look the same or is there a major trade off by switching screens?

What do you mean by not being able to see your websites in their true form?

I'm getting a 1520 soon and ill get the 1280x800 one... As theres only a 8600mGT DDR2 inside, i wouldnt be able to play current games at higher resolution either way... the 1280x800 is just fine for me. You got to get the one that feels fine for you.

Your first question can be summed up in two ways.
    1) The difference is in the native resolution of screen. I would say for most people the difference is not great. Most websites are formated for 1024 width, or less to maintain compatibility with older computers. When the website is viewed at 1680 vs. 1440 the text/pictures look smaller.

    2) Read the numerous topics about 1520 screens. There have been some issues with the 1440x900 screens (grainy, etc.). Both of these are high resolution so you don't sacrifice anything there, but beware.

Video games: The thing to remember here is that the games look the best when played at native resolution. For most of the new games the laptop graphics cards are not robust enough to run them at native 1680 or even 1440. Too much screen to render. The game defaults to a resolution which is less (ie. 800x600) and up scales to fill the screen. On LCD screens this makes things look a little jaggie and blurry. Regardless, it is a personal preference, I personally have the 1280x800 in the last two of my notebooks.

I just want to make sure my video games don't look funny if I switch to a system with smaller resolution.....if the quality is about the same then I am cool
