I have a Studio 1558 and the Ac adapter is running very hot all the time. I used an infrared thermometer to see just how hot it was, and I got a reading of +150°F. I just want to know if this could be some type of fire hazard or something

O and this is only while I'm just surfing the net, I wonder how hot it gets while I'm putting the processor to work encoding movies and so-forth

If you do a search for power adapter and heat issues, you will find there are many threads which discuss this. Dell has been shipping 90w adapters for some time in an effort to save money and these adapters get quite hot, especially when charging the laptop.

Some folks have found getting a 130w adapter from Dell helps but it will cost you a few pennies to purchase it. I'm waiting to hear if Dell gets off their collective butts and replaces them for everyone, free of charge, but I could be waiting some time.
