Im coming from a dual lamp 17" hp wsxga and would like to pick up a 1555 with a wsxga led screen.
Im not sure what the brightness rating on my old dv8300 laptop. Are these screens comparable?

not sure if this helps but the RGB LED screen on the 1737 is so darn bright I have to use it on almost lowest brightness settings.

That is I have to take DELL's word for it, since I have no way to actually confirm it has an RGB LED screen.

My 1080p LG screen is very bright. In daylight indoor lighting I never have it more than 50-60% of the maximum.

Also, LED screens will not exhibit (at least noticeable) light leaking like some of the double lamp screens (edges of screen). I.e. the light distribution will be better.

from the white-led laptops i've seen, brightness is maxed out so they stand out on the showroom floor.

i guess the leds havent changed the performance colour-wise white leds still spec out at 45% gamut.

rgb-leds are just too expensive for me to justfiy right now.
