I'm looking for input on the 3 screen options when configuring the New Inspiron 15 online:

    1) Glossy, widescreen 15.6 inch display (1366x768) [Included in Price]
    2) Bright, glossy widescreen 15.6 WLED display (1366x768) [add $20]
    3) 15.6” High Definition+ (1600x900) LED Display with TrueLife™ [add $40]

I tend to not want a glossy screen, as I read/think the reflections would be a usability concern. Is it only option #3 that's really reflective, or are they all? Any chance anybody has a photo of #1 and/or #2, ideally side-by-side with a #3, both powered on and off?

Between #1 and #2, is the #2 upgrade recommended (and why)?

According to a quick Google search, The TrueLife™ brand is Dell's marketing name for its new anti-reflective LCD screen technology (anti-reflective technology). Based on that line, the last display option should have less glare or reflection than the first two. Two is probably the recommended upgrade because that'll give the most profit to Dell XD

I have option 2 (and am getting a technician to set me up with option 3), and I can tell you that you can still see quite a few reflections if the background is darker, but it's not that bad at all when viewing most other things. Direct light does still cause quite a few reflections though.

Honestly though, you do get used to it. I actually prefer glossy screens now, but it took me time to make the transition.

I have number 2 and I have a new laptop with number 3 on the way. I wouldn't have sprung for number 2 if I had the choice between 1 and 2 again.

    Lol. Dell's technology?
