I have had my 1537 for 21 days. I was given the run around on the phone tree after receiving my laptop back from repair in Texas. The problem was that there was an intermittent pop or click whenever any music program was being listened to. (Even while having the already great displeasure of listening to music on Dell's customer service lines). To make a long story short, they sent my laptop back still needing to replace the HDD with the noise still very apparent. (They wanted me to do the work when the part arrived) They'd already replaced the motherboard, and...... this is laughable......wait for it now......THE PALM REST. So my business partner and I used a VOIP conference call to tag team their tech and customer service people. We vehemently insisted, over 1hr & 25 min. that the only solution to my brand new computer having this CD rom problem was replacement. This method worked, but you must take names and employee #s. Be angry.....but don't lose it entirely.....and make sure you let the "returns dept." know that you will take all legal actions necessary to resolve the problem. Our business is being effected by this flaw and we told them so. Your state's AG is definitely affective in this regard. So use that if necessary. Dell's ratings are taking a toilet plunge, so give em hell and they will probably ultimately meet your demands.

This is an update. My Dell 1537 is now requiring a full repair scan each time it boots up......It will not start w/o this 10 minute procedure. If anything at all happens with the replacement they are sending, it will go back and I will purchase either a Sony or a Mac. Dell has lost my respect for their product.
