Hello all and thank you in advance. I have a dell 1535 with the latest bios. I just bought a brand new blank drive. Its a WD Scorpio Black 320gig x 7200rpm. I put it in and and the bios recognises it. Then i go to install vista with the dell windows cd. It gets to the point where you choose what drive to install it on. It shows the drive but wont let me install in there. Mentions something Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation and something with make sure its enabled in the bios. The only options i have is to install the driver. So i tried installing the intel storage matrix driver which it recognises then goes through a process and starts back to square one. All help is appreciated. The only bios options are ata or ahci and i tried both but to no avail.

Also i tried doing xp in ata mode and the drive shows and the part where it says format, delete partition etc is says cannot access this disk. It does show the correct disk size and everything
