Will there ever be an LED 1680x1050 hi def screen for the 1530 :D , i wish dell would sell the 1530 with the led screen??

I was all up for getting the ccfl 1680x1050 screen when become it becomes available in the UK, but ive read in many reviews that the ccfl screen is soon going to be replaced by the LED backlit version, but this isent half of the story, these obsolete screens have a fatal floor, over a period of time depending on how much you use the screen it slowly gets dimmer and dimmer, this is very true as my dads dell hes had for two year or just under the screen is just totally dim in comparison to my HP pavillion, and he barley uses the thing that much!!

Ive got an hp pavillion atm but looking to upgrade as i am more in to comp's now, and i wont a sleek slim 15.4" laptop, and the dell m1530 is just right, and ill build this to its maximum spec, blueray and all, but the screen is just totally putting me off!!

i use my comp some days all day and the screen on my HP is showing signs of loosing brightness, as ive had it for 1/3 of a year and i would say it was at 75% brightness now,

SO I NEED an led backlit and 1680x1050 hi def screen so i can make the most out of blur ray,, does anyone know about the Led's coming out??

lol, I think it's all in you're head. I've used millions of monitors. The first generation of Plasma's did that, but it took 3 too 10 years for them to effectively start to 'dimm' in brightness.

Likely you're inverters are faulty, or you're just looking for problems due to reading to much BS on the internet.

All in you're head though. You know, my truck runs better after I wash it.. It's all physiological man.. lol

LED displays are slightly brighter and are advertised to use 'less' power. It's all the same crap but different piles.

ok then i read a BS story and got carried away or just that the effects of this was over a long time period, but the led backlight version does have alot of advantages, lighter and brighter screen, colures can be perceived as more true and some say there are energy savings in the screen.

what i did read that was true was that mercury was present in the ccfl screen which can cause cancer if the screen is not disposed of correctly, environmental issues really, but apple has gone for these screens now with their apple book pro i think!

But would this screen be available, the LED 1680x1050 on the 1530

That’s one of the reasons why led's will be coming to laptops, suppliers will hopefully be putting them in to all devices, as in the modern world we are thinking of environmentally friendly solutions to the things we produce.

There are also costs of disposing of the laptops when you are finished using it, as the mercury makes it harder to dispose of!

There can be variations amoung different LCD manufacturers and also amongst panels produced at different times. My replacement for my m1330 (w/ LED screen) had a screen with a noticably lower color temperature. Both panels were Toshibas with about equal brightness. My whites now are whiter but honestly I couldn't tell before I had them side by side.

The awful truth is that your eyesight gets worse as time passes, so really, as far as LCD brightness is concerned, its a cruel and hopeless world.

The XPS 1530 will probably get a WXGA+ LED backlit screen (1440x900). I'm not aware of anyone producing WSXGA+ LED backlit screens yet.

And, reading that depending on the manufacturer the LED can have poorer viewing angles than a good LG CCFL LCD, should a WXGA+ LED of those actually available have got better viewing angles than a good WSXGA+ LG CCFL?

BTW, 1680x1050 is NOT HD. 1920x1080 is true HD. Therefore, you would need a 1920x1200, or WUXGA+, screen to view true HD offered by blu-ray.
