1530 says shipped? wow

I ordered early monday morning like 4am and its going to be here tomorrow? I am going to put that bad boy under the tree now :x

I am thinking if i should buy another 2GB memory stick to make it 4GB (3.5)? I ordered the system with 1GB

 

just make it 2gb .4gb would be overkill and wont give a significant preformance difference

Check the Xps M1530 shipping status thread...if DHL says it'll be there tomorrow it'll be there next week...mine was overnight shipped by dell on like the 17th and its been sitting at DHL HQs this whole time...

 

lol, i've had 3 laptops sent to me from DHL and they always deliver on time especially "next day" delivery. I think it depends on where you are at.....I have had no issues like those other guys.......thank goodness

Apparently mine was in the hands of the US courier Sunday morning and it is still "in transit in US" according to purolator. I called Purolator and they said it should only take 2-3 days to cross the boarder.... I'm hoping DHL isn't the ones that are handling it till it gets to Canada. Anyone know?

A Led Rock, apparently EVERYONE agrees with your statement. I can't find any where that says DHL is great.

Does anyone know if purolator's website is real time updates as they say it is?

Totally unfair. Mine still claims to be "in production".

I suppose that my processor (T7500 vs. your T7700) and HDD (160GB 5400 RPM vs. your 120GB 7200 RPM) might be delaying it. Loads of people are saying that theirs are shipping.

 

I used to work at dell. Those dhl guys are so damn slow. Mine was stipulated to arrive from the 19th to the 21st. As of now, there has been no call. If by midday there is no call, I'm calling to give a piece of my mind.

 

So sad. I'm so sad. I hope I get both notebooks in the mail - I'm keeping them both!

 

You're lucky - I ordered my 1400 8 days ago and it still says it'll be shipped on 1/2/08

 

They said they spent 150 million on improving customer support but after the trouble I went through to cancel my vostro 1500 order, I'm not sure where that money was spent.

Good news!
My laptop is supposedly here on Friday...w00t. When I first ordered it, the estimated delivery date was the 28th, which screwed all my travel plans over. Thankfully, after checking the order status yesterday, I'll hopefully have my lappy in time for my winter break!

 

Tommorow is the final day in the shipping estimate for mine. Lets hope they don't screw this up.

 

I ordered a laptop from dell 2 days ago and it's estimated to be shipped on 1/16/2008. That's kinda ridiculous... that is almost a month wait... although I'm sure they will ship it before then.

Maybe they are sending refurbs to the people getting the laptop all fast... so I'm glad they are taking the time to make mine. LOL.

I bet that's what they do if they have a matching spec refurb with a new order, they just send the refurb without labeling it as such. Messed up, but business is evil.

 

Why'd you get two laptops?? I was thinking about getting the dv2700, but I wasn't sure about the build quality so I went with Dell. If Dell sends me a laptop with problems, it's going back to them and I'll be ordering the HP dv2700.

 

My ESD is 12/31/07 with EDD of 1/7/08. Order date was Dec 13 07.

It actually shipped 12/16 and as of 12/20 @ 1:30pm was on a purolator truck heading for BC from Calgary.

This may not be the case for everyone but maybe it will give you and idea of how dell estimates their ESDs and EDDs.

Well the 21st is almost done and no 1530. I'm going to give them a call in a while to give them a piece of my mind. They expect payment on time, so I expect delivery on time.

 

i ordered mine 12:30 am on Wednesday morning (tuesday night depending on how you look at it) and supposedly mine is in the boxing stage according to customer service

Yeah, DHL is far and away better than UPS IMO. FedEx also does a solid job. All the carriers will have trouble meeting deadlines this time of year, they are super swamped.

 

Yeah well I'm doing my final year thesis and university really won't care if DHL couldn't meet their deadline. You are right, FedEx does a really solid job.

For a while resellers were hoping dell would change the shipping company because this sort of crap happens more than you would think.

 

When they miss a deadline on an air package, FedEx (and I imagine the other providers) will refund the shipping charges. Of course the refund goes to the shipper (Dell), who may not pass it along to you.

 

Considering that I got free next day shipping, I don't really care if Dell's the one that gets the refund.

Actually audreyhorne my first estimated shipping date was the 28th of this month so they do ship early depending on the time of completion of production.

Mine shipped on the 16th and the date of arrival estimated was at latest the 21st. Until I emailed them, did they clarify it will take 13 to 21 days to reach. I find this was bullcrap. At $73 USD you would think they could hurry it along or at least estimate properly.

 

Does anyone know if Purolator will do a hold for pick up? My laptop narrowly missed the truck heading for my city yesterday (Friday December 21) morning. Purolator states that they will have it in my city by tomorrow morning but unfortunately they won't be delivering it. Thats what you get for free shipping . What I would like to know is if they will hold it at the depot (it's less than a block from me) so that I can just go pick it up tomorrow.

I would have called and asked myself but I work shift work and didn't get off work until 11pm PST on Friday.

Thats a tough one. I suppose if you have the necessary information like tracking number and such, I see not reason why they shouldn't.

Mine still says tracking number unavailable. Which means it could be in Shintola for all I know. With no number to track it I can't even call DHL.

 

Blue5, just use the dell chat or call Dell. If it is shipped they can tell you the tracking number and the company that will ship it to your door.

 

I will call and see. As for my tracking number...my laptop is in a building so incredibly close to my house (in Canada) and I have yet to actually get an official tracking number from Dell. I just called them and got it myself.

Just so you know, I got my Dell much earlier that expected. I ordered it on Sunday, and got it on Thursday of the same week. DHL had the tracking right and everything, I was able to monitor right when the courier received it. I got it much earlier than expected and it was the right config and everything. the only issue is:

Props to Dell and Purolator for the great service. I ordered the laptop on the morning of Dec 12th, it was shipped Dec 14th and delivered in Canada on the 18th. That's six days till it was delivered, I'm impressed...now I just have to wait till my relatives fly down with it for me (midnight flight arrival).

 

You guys! My 1520 came in from DHL with no problems. If you sign up for email alert, you get an email everytime that package is touched! I knew the day it was put on the truck and knew when it was delivered.

Fedex is the best, they delivered a package to me at 8.0 pm last friday...

 

I did sign up for this, I got my first XPS 1530 and have not gotton any emails .. also signed up for DHL e-mail also no e-mails... and yes my e-mail working fine..

how are some people able to see where (location ) the laptop is? i got a PO number and a order # and all i get is dell's shipped truck icon?!? is there a special site... i dont even know who is the delivery company!!!
