I think he means maybe the rubber pads on the bottom aren't quite level, so the laptop might wobble a bit. Am I right?

"might"? It's as if you're not sure what's wrong with your laptop

Kindly give a more detailed explanation... Thanks.

Yeah its happens.. I think its the mag alloy case a bit warped. Some people twist the chassis to fix it.. Here is a thread about it. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=206762

From page two of that threat.. the OP said:

" I think your suggestion may have fixed the problem. I placed the computer on the edge of my desk at a 45 degree angle with only the left rear and the right front contacting the desk (i.e., the computer was rotated about 45 degrees counterclockwise so the front wasn't parallel to the front of the desk). I pressed down on the left front (which was previously not contacting the desk) and the right rear. It didn't take much force, but after I tried this, the computer sits flat on the desk! I'll see if it reverts back after using it for awhile, but so far so good. I guess this doesn't say much for the rigidity of the chassis! If you try this, make sure you open the display first."

I can't believe I just found this post! I had the same exact problem, had a service guy come out and replace the bottom plated of the computer which did nothing to fix the problem and now they want to have him come out and replace more parts which won't fix the problem. They claim it is actually the palm rest which is the problem, not the base.

Anyways, while I was on hold with Dell, I found this thread and gave the bending fix a try, held the back left and front right corner on a chair, with the other two corners unsupported and gently pressed down on the left front and the back right corners till the darn thing sits flat. It worked perfect.

    Thanks guys!
