    Just happened to see that they are offering the 1525 now on dell.com, starting price is $499

    That is cheap man. but not my kind of laptop. they don't offer any good vedio cards, or CPU better than 2GHz..

    yes the 1520s have been replaced with the 1525s on the dell site.
    bye bye to 1520 ( though you can still access the 1520 page from some older links)

    I'm just glad I ordered the 1521's for my wife and daughter when I did. They may not be the greatest, but I got a pretty good bang for the buck on them, and for what they will be using them for, they are more than adequate.

    why would you want the 1520 (besides the graphics options)? Everything else about the 1525 indicates it's better than the 1520.

    I like the 1525. It was nice that Dell had the affordable Inspiron line for people who wanted a little bit more performance for their money, but recently the XPS line has become much more affordable. I like their transition to smaller, more manageable laptops without the things like gaming GPUs. Let's face it. The average consumer really only needs the X3100 and T5740. That'll do fine for DVD watching, ripping, word processing, internet browsing, etc., for years to come. We're a specialty market.
