    1525 power light flashing when you turn the system off

    Doesn't matter if its plugged in or not

    the only way i can stop it doing this is by shutting it down properly, not just shutting the lid or pressing the button

    The thing is it always hasn't done this, its just a recent thing its decided to pick up. Very annoying in a dark room

    your laptops going into standby, which is signified by the flashing power light.
    You can change this in the power options, change it from standby to hibernate or shutdown in the close lid or power button press (if you have XP) i'm not sure of the process in vista

    What's the purpose of hibernation over shutting down?
