FYI, there is also a 300 dollar off coupon avaiable for the 1525 when configured about 1,199.

But yeah the specs arent that great but it should be a great laptop for someone who doesnt want to spend a whole lot on a basic laptop with multimedia features.

yeah, my brother would have definetly wanted this system. I am guessing the 1526 might be the upgrade of the 1520?

No, the 1526 should be the update of the 1521. It should be just like the 1525, but with an AMD CPU.

I think they would be called mainstream home laptops. The low-budget would be the 1501.

These are targeted at basic people and families that just want a portable computer for e-mail, movies, word processing. In other words, cost effective mainstream computers.

The AMD versions are the 'low budget' I guess, or 'Value' systems. Intel version are sorta the 'Premium" version - lol.

They look decent for just those tasks - nothing more.

Performance would be like any other laptop at the same specs.

I'm sure they'll come out with more options (processor, video card) in the future.
