What is the quality of the 1525 monitor? How long until higher res monitors become available?

    What is the speaker quality?

    Thank you very much.

I don't think they're going to use higher res monitors in the 1525. Same way I don't think they're going to get better than an X3100 for a video card.
    According to the review

    the speakers are nothing special.

Yeah, Dells speakers are crap. Thats one area where HP has a huge advantage over with their altec lansing speakers. At least with the dell 1420 I briefly had, I always had to plug in my external creative travel sound speakers. It was unbearable for me to listen to dells built in speakers. I think the reason they are so bad is they have nothing as far as crossovers or anything to improve the sound stage and stereo separation. Its a bad idea to just wire a raw speaker without any kind of crossover or something to help the imaging of the sound. But I think thats all you get with dell is a raw speakers soldered to the MOBO.

I think on a business laptop this would be ok. But on a consumer entertainment PC Dell should take it up a notch on their built in speakers.

speakers are NOT good at all. Almost unbearable to listen to, in that case I just plug in my headphones and call it a day.
