1520 with no DVI or HDMI...can't we just use a dock?

I remember on or around June 26th, a lot of people complaining about the 1520's lack of HDMI or DVI support...and I was just looking around to get a dock for my 1520 (which is still in the build stage ;. ;) and I found two expresscard ones. I read that expresscard is supposed to provide more bandwidth than USB, so I'd pick that over a dock connected via USB. Belkin has one of these expresscard docks: http://www.belkin.com/highspeeddock/ which has a DVI port. couldn't we just use this instead? or would performance lag horribly? i'm also posting about this to see if anyone has anything to say about the product as I might buy it.

The reviews for it have been less then stellar from what I've seen. If you want DVI or HDMI, having one on the notebook itself or on a proper docking station is much more recommended.

Does the PCIe x1 lane even have enough bandwidth to output uncompressed video(HDMI)? :confused2:

oh i dont actually care about the DVI/HDMI...i just wanted an easy way to connect the notebook to a monitor, external speakers, an external mouse and keyboard. i wouldn't like to keep plugging/unplugging in 4 different things. ideally i'd want a docking station like i have at work for the company's latitude but seeing as how that doesn't exist w/inspiron, i'm looking for a viable alternative.

Thats a gr8 find mate would it work with the vostro? only problem is the price, things costs a bucket load!

Idk if it will lag, should be alright if its quicker than the usb version, which are quite popular with few complaints!

It uses it's own video card...which isn't very good...I think the max res it can support is 1600x1200 too...
