Tried device manager and i cannot see a web camera option or in the Bios, if the hardware was detected during power up then it would register correct.

Had my display replaced and i believe somehow the technician disconnect my camera, i see no option as mentioned above to enable or disable this camera.

    any advice appreciated.
    Thanks

I know this is probably a dumb question, but the camera is still there is it not? As in do you know it is physically there?

Either way, the new display doesn't have the camera or the cable is loose as you suspect.

yes, the camera is physically there including the mic's, doesn't really matter anyway as Dell is replacing this 1520 for a new one (still in production) but i do use messenger for web chat's and is a bummer.

I've used it before and now it's inoperable.

The technician must have neglected to reconnect the camera ribbon after installing the new screen. It is most likely the connection pictured here and the only way to reconnect the camera.
