Hi i'm sorry if this question my sound ridicules but often when gaming on the road i can feel my laptop getting very hot on the bottom. My Question is; does the bios or vista automatically shut down my laptop before the temperature gets critical or do i have to monitor this using a program like rivia tunner?

    Thanks for an response

Yes the laptop will shut off if it reaches critical temperature.

Don't worry about it though, i own one and it keeps pretty cool even after hours of gaming. The hot bottom is normal

This series of dells is very cool compared to other laptops...the trade off is its thickness. But you shouldn't have to worry unless its physically burning the surface below.
