I recently downgraded my Dell Inspiron 1520 ST:g75gjf1 to Windows Xp pro.
I got all the drivers well downloaded except for the Wireless card and the display adapter.I have tried downloading the ones listed on another post but can get those two.I installed the wireless card driver and it did its setup and completed the download but it still says its missing a driver.Any help i would Apreciate it.

Fore the wireless card it is possible you downloaded the wrong one - IE you have the Intel card and donwloaded the driver for the Dell card.

If you have the Nvidia card, get the Nvidia card drivers from Dell. If those drivers don't work, then you have the Intel X3100 card - you can get those drivers from Dell too.

For the wireless card - does your laptop say Centrino on the palm rest?

When did you buy your 1520? I'm pretty sure they quit offering nVIDIA in January and all February+later 1520's are X3100 (unless possibly if they were bought through the outlet).

If you've still got your order confirmation email, that ought to have a list of the hardware on your machine, and that'll tell you which wireless card and graphics card you have. The other possibility is to seach Dell support at http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen with the Service Tag, which is supposed to bring up exactly the drivers you need. If it works (it doesn't for me for some reason), it'll probably bring up the Vista drivers, but that'll be enough for you to know what hardware you have and you can then search for the equivalent XP drivers. The service tag is a six-digit number/letter combo that you can find on the bottom of your notebook; more or less near the center on a white piece of tape.
