    Hey,

If i buy say a 22" monitor which i can connect my Inspiron 1520 too, what will the quality be like? Will it be the same as on the laptop screen or worse?

    Thanks,

That depends on a lot of factors. Monitor's maximum resolution and refresh rate, if you connect it with s-video or DVI, if the monitor is an LCD or a CRT, if it's an LCD what kind of finish it has on it, etc. Potentially, you could make your external display look nicer than the laptop's and it will be bigger as well. At the very least, you should be able to get an external display that has a comparible appearance to that of your laptop.
