Ive got an issue and was wondering perhaps someone else does too. I installed the drivers using kystermas package (which is the original xp driver pack with the modded .inf file for the 8600m gt) I extracted the inf file after I zipped the pack to a folder, then I ran setup. In my device manger it reads "%NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.1%" Has anyone else tried installing XP on their machine and had this issue? Just wondering if it's even an issue. Under the advanced system settings, it is recognized as an 8600m gt, just not through device manger  Please help me again

^Yes the G84 was the code name for it I believe, I had the exact same thing with my 8400M GS (HP dv6500t) except it was the G86 core.

    G86 does not mean 8600, G84 isn't 8400, etc.

roger doger. I remember reading about that, how the core names are confusing people. Thanks for your reply! Greatly appreciated! Now if anyone has any ideas for a functional xp bluetooth driver and xp sound that would help too... darn dell...*attempting* to force on vista!
