    dude, the sound is not really a problem, unless u use headphones a lot, BUT u can't notice a thing wearing headphones while listening to music/games/movies. the only way to notice it, if u just wear the headphones while not doing anything sound related...doesn't bother me, cuz when i do wear headphones i tend to listen to a lot of music. ;)

    i didnt have a humming noise in my 1520 anyway, but because my desktop had a x-fi music sound card, going to a laptop with the basic onboard sound was really noticeable, now that iv got the x-fi xtremeaudio notebook, i have my superior sound back.

    Only faults i could possibly tell are:
    1. you dont get the speaker docking module with the soundcard
    2. the sound card sticks slightly out of the xpresscard slot (it works correctly, but it doesnt sit flush with the laptop).

    Other than that, well worth buying in my opinion. Enabling the crystaliser at 100% is a must do when receiving this card.
