Ok, so I recently installed Comodo Firewall on Vista with Defense+ after reading reviews about it. After installing it, my computer takes a longer time to respond than usual with both internet and offline activities. I was fine without a firewall (until I got a possible rootkit on my system (but nothing ever showed up), which is why I installed the firewall and I haven't uninstalled it after that), but as any good conscious security person knows, a firewall is helpful (especially on a university network like I'm on). Do you guys think I really need it? I've been doing tests with it by exiting it and seeing if my computer is faster and I think it definitely has an impact.
Also, for Vista SP1, does anyone know if day-to-day operations are faster, including startup and shutdown? I've read some reviews, but I'd like a solid person-to-person non biased answer if possible. I'm thinking of upgrading this weekend. Also, has anyone with a 1520 had any driver issues after upgrading. I'm not talking about the ones Microsoft held off the upgrade for. Some people are finding other drivers that are messing up after upgrading, and I just wanted to know if it was a problem on the 1520.
Thanks!
