For two days, the automated line has said 'in boxing"; so I decided to talk to a csr and find out. They come back with a " sorry this is being delayed to October 10th." Ask why the automated line said it's in boxing, no clue. Asked politely to speak to a manager, placed on hold forever, manager comes on and says-yes, oct 10th, and promptly hangs up on me. Didn't even get a single word in to the manager, and they hang up on me. Was polite to the csr too!

    Well, no joy!

I have been waiting around all day for delivery, and I finally checked the tracking again to find the dreaded "Address correction required" message, about 4 hours old!

I called the 1 888 number, and the rep said she didn't know why the driver had scanned the package with that message. She read back my address, correctly, and said she couldn't explain why the package hadn't been delivered. I could choose to go to the depot to pick up the package this evening (about a 45 minute drive one way) or ask them to try to redeliver the package.

Since neither option was really all that great, I thought I'd pursue the matter locally. I called the shipping depot and the package had not yet returned there from it's tour around where I live. The worker there told me that I could come down to pick it up tonight, choose to have it redelivered (though I don't know why I'd do that -- if they couldn't find my house today, why would they be able to tomorrow?), or have them ship it tomorrow to a more local (to me) Purolator shipping storefront. I chose the last option, so tomorrow afternoon I'll call my local Purolator office and see if my 1520 is waiting for me there.

    I'm still hopeful!

Hm, if I pick up my computer, what should I put for the "actual delivery date" in my signature?

I wonder if calling them every day will help the 'priority' of my order at all?

    Getting antsy.

nope, trust me, high priority ain't us. lol
got my original 1520 during the huge DELLay in 10 days total, and with the exchange 1520, I'm still waiting, 15 business days past original ship date, and have been calling, politely, like the Dell csr's have told me to do. It doesn't matter, if I had 10$ for each "escalation" that I've been told, this 1520 would be free. :eek2:

It's finally here, and 11 days before the original estimated shipping date!

It was a bit of a hassle; for some reason the delivery didn't come yesterday, and I had to contact several Purolator employees before I could finally have the computer delivered to a nearby Purolator shipping center for pickup. Here is the complete list of Purolator tracking notes:

2007/09/20 13:24 Delivered to (me) at RECEPTION of (address omitted)
    2007/09/20 12:48 Available for Pickup
    2007/09/20 11:21 Available for Pickup
2007/09/20 10:44 Delivered to .... at RECEPTION of PUROLATOR (address omitted)
    2007/09/20 10:39 Available for Pickup
2007/09/20 09:40 On vehicle for delivery
    2007/09/20 01:56 Shipment In Transit
    2007/09/19 17:24 Shipment In Transit
    2007/09/19 17:23 Shipment In Transit
    2007/09/19 12:54 Address Correction Required
2007/09/19 07:52 On vehicle for delivery
    2007/09/19 07:24 Shipment In Transit
    2007/09/18 15:29 Shipment In Transit
    2007/09/17 14:29 Shipment In Transit
    2007/09/17 14:28 Received
    2007/09/13 13:30 In Transit in U.S.

The machine itself is quite beautiful, and the only issues I have so far are minor, almost imperceptible imperfections in the red finish and a bit of fan noise at times. I am going to spend the next little while getting to know it a bit better before making any other summary judgments.

Thanks for letting me post here! I hope everyone ends up satisfied with their order.

Well, I finally received my exchange 1520-working good except they totally went bogus on the HD. the original was the Fujitsu that is on my sig,and the replacement one in the exchange was a seagate!!!! :eek2: Totally sounded like it had sand in it when it was runnning-so I swapped out the hd's!!
The Fujitsu specs were better and it's a hybrid drive with nvram in it, AHCI, and the Seagate didn't have nvram and not AHCI, just regular sata! so they're getting the Seagate back.
