    Dell Inspiron 1520 Review

Well, after a short 2 week waiting period for Dell to build my 1520, it was delivered on Wednesday.
The excitement of a new laptop was prominent in me since I placed my order; I needed a laptop that would help me through University as a Geography student starting in February. As a result, this was the first laptop I have ever had, and so far, I’m extremely impressed!!
My laptop has decent spec’s for the job I need it to do, (the spec’s are in my signature) however I am a victim of a chronic addiction to the Sims 2 Game *Blush*.
The screen is extremely crisp, I’ve herd stories of “grainy” screens, fortunally mine was fine, although now I wish I got anti glare screen that would help particularly when studying outside, oh well!
The system is extremely fast and efficient, it runs virus scans, Photoshop and even the Sims 2 at the same time, I was extremely impressed particularly when it is noted Photoshop is a memory hog!
The key board is a dream; it is extremely satisfying to type on, however I am missing the number key pad at the right of the keyboard!
I cannot compare the casing to other notebooks, but from what I’ve felt, I believe this is a solid and protective casing that would be suitable for a student like me. The keypad is wonderful, however as I am a first time notebook user, it will take me a while to fully get used to using the keypad rather than the conventional mouse.

In conclusion, I love my 1520, it fulfilled my expectations and more. I was the first of my very large family to order a non Hewlett Packard system, and I am extremely pleased I did. Although dell “lost” my laptop in Auckland for 6 hours, they have refunded me $50 NZD and apologised deeply for their muck up. I also am impressed with Dell’s outstanding performance; they built and delivered my system in a mare 2 weeks!!!
Here are a few pictures of my baby, yes I’ve also called her Reberta =]

Those curved edges and sitting on carpet make it look like it's not the thick chunk of plastic that it is.
