Okay, I'll bite.

I have the order in the sig below and I also ordered a Jet Black system with the same specs on 8/7. Both are in the vast wasteland that is Build. I chatted with a CSR in India earlier who had a mastery of cutting and pasting canned responses in chat but offered NO useful information. Anyway, the first system to make progress I'll keep, the other will be cancelled. So now I'm both black and blue.

Hmm, I was told today (errm...yesterday) that there were no part shortages by a CSR that called my house. *Prays he was telling the truth*

 

Haha it seems that everytime they finally get a shipment of the blue lids in, something else gets delayed and therefore they use the blue lids on everyone elses laptops that they have all the parts for. Seems hopeless =(

 

I'm starting to think they rarely order the 1440x900 screens. All the other ones are actually being shipped. Even my friend, who ordered a 1720, got his in a week. (Damn PSP makes posting so long and tedious. I really need this laptop -.-)

 

Yeah haha thats gotta be rough. I leave for school in another week and i need this laptop for that, so i know how ya feel. I just wish they would hurry things up already, im about done dealing with dell and the non english speaking customer service that provide no help.

I'm moving up to college early (the 20th) for work and my ESD is the 23rd! Sho, count me in on that prayer!

 

I think we may need more than a prayer now. *Gets out sacrifice equipment* My first week of college (hopefully only the first week) is going to suck soo much because I won't have anything to do really. I'm no social butterfly so I was planning on staying away from all those boring ice breaker events they hold . I move in on the 22nd, and since they haven't shipped it yet, there's no chance I'll get my laptop before then. T_T

 

I'm still waiting and my classes start the 23rd.

 

Good thing my school goes by quarter. Won't start til the end of September.

oh man i just got mine today, and the blue looks AWESOME! I ordered 7/6 so i know what waiting is like, but damn that blue is good looking! You will be happy you waited the extra time when you set your greasy orange cheeto covered fingers on it!

My lappy is still in the "Build stage". The CSR i have been talking to said that my laptop hasn't started being build yet.

 

I'm gonna try to get more compensation if it doesn't ship tomorrow. I'm hoping for a remote, bag, $100 coupon, discount or extended due date for my the rest of my payment I owe Dell on my DPA (I don't want that added interest).

 

How can dell expect people to start making payments on a product you dont even have. If they start that crap with me, I'll take my business to Apple and spend the extra money.

this is crazy, my friend order 2 weeks after me, same parts except he didn't add bluetooh. and his ship out today, while all i hear is build stage. i'm starting to get nightmares of the word build stage

 

That's ridiculous. These delays are so upsetting...

 

The stupid lid is on backorder. That is the only item on backorder...

i got a phone call from dell CSR today n they left a voicemail saying my laptop is going into production today and will ship out in the next few days.. he also said they would put a $150 off coupon for compensation sweeet

 

I have a good feeling they'll ship mine soon...but I know better than to expect anything.

 

I talked to one of those Indian customer service reps and I asked her if there was any compensation for the wait times. She said she'll throw in a carrying case and a BT mouse. Better than nothing, right?

 

My wait is almost over, It has gone into the Boxing Stage!!!!!! maybe I'll have it tomorrow???? *wishful thinking*

 

How do you find if yours is boxing or not? Mine just says "In Production".

OMG!!! I just called and it says my 1520 is in TESTING!!!! I didn't believe it at first, so I called back to make sure I entered the correct order number. Now I'm praying that I get it by Friday.

 

Called the Automated Order Status phone number, and told me it was in the boxing stage.

 

Ah. I had to call. My current status is "boxing." w00t!

Ordered 7/28 ESD is tomorrow! Sadly however, It is still in build stage...

I called a dell rep and she said that nothing of mine is on backorder and that it should ship tomorrow and arrive the 24th.

Here's the million dollar question, how much are they paying her to say that!?

But in all honesty, is what she said believable? She flat out told me that it should arrive on the 24th so...

i dont care anymore...i ordered 7/20 with the hope it would be here before 8/23 when i leave for college, im still in build so i dont think ill be getting it before i leave

 

hmm..... well i'm kinda pissed, ordered july 21st........ esd1 of the 16th..... that got delayed. new one was the 28th of this month but like yesterday i got a call from dell saying my order would be shipped out today..... so today rolls around, call up the automated number at like 9am........ 11:15am......... 2pm......... 3pm........ and everytime it says "build" stage, so i talk to this nice dude named Clive, but he says the whole reason why my order is delayed so far is the lid color, or the blue trim or whatever...... and that it's still in production and that the previous lady didn't know what she was talking about. no comp. tho. =(

 

yes I hit the Boxing stage too.....think they got a big supply of blues and ....are hopefully are not spray painting blue on some other color. I never thought the words "Boxing stage" would sound so good...hopefully it gets to me by the weekend.

 

Well i just called and found out i'm in the boxing stage...starting today....hopefully it won't be that long!! for the first time since i bought it i'm actually excited for my computer...it better be worth the wait!!!

woot, new update, i'm in the kitting stage, so they finally got all my stinkin' parts. now i gotta just wait for the 2nd most dreaded stage..... the "boxing" stage. i just hope my boxing doesn't take 5 days like it does some people. isn't it once u get to build from kitting it's like 6min to build it, and like 80min to test? according to that article on the dell manufacturing process posted a while ago anyways it was.
