After watching a wide screen movie I've come to the conclusion that the light bleed off is very annoying, Dell is going to replace the screen.

Has anyone had their screen replaced and did it work or am I wasting my time with a design defect which the replacement will not correct.

Bleed is related more to how snug the plastic housing fits around the panel.....replacement probably won't make a big difference.

That doesnt appear to be the case. Many people have received laptops that they are very happy with, and some people have received repairs that they have been happy with.

is the bleed noticeable on white or lighter screens?

its unfortunate that its there at all, but I can live with it so long as its not there 100% of the time...
