Anyone else have a big delay hit their notbook? I ordered one with 2gb ram 2.0ghz Core 2 duo, 8600 GT , Jet Black, 1440x900 screen.

Ship date was supposed to be 9/4 but now its 10/4. I am pissed. Almost cancelled and Ordered a sager, but I really love my girlfriends 1520 (BTW she ordered it the SAME night with the SAME specs and got it that very week).

I got dell to give me an expedited build and free overnight/same day shipping. I don't expect that to help at all.

Nobody would give me a straight answer on why it is delayed. One person said the painting process was screwed up, another said it was a lack of parts.

Anyone else run into the same problem recently?

I was given the same thing right after I placed my order. I called dell to ask why it was going to take over a month to send my laptop. It has not helped at all.... at least not yet.

I dont get it, why cant they get parts all ready????

Same here, i ordered mine on the july 7, 2007 and the ESD was and still is Aug 4,2007 (In production)..............

I'm thinking abt cancelling the order if it's not shipped by next week. I did however spoke to customer service and they explained they are have a problem with the screen (short supplies it seems), however they promised me they'll ship it next week.

    What did you order?

Don't cancel. I, too, was delayed. But instead of being three weeks, it was more like two days.

Call the online order status number (1-800-433-9014) with your order number and see what stage the system is in.

    Report back.

I would assume its simply because of the T7300 CPU.

Considering its no longer available on the US dell site, and its been reported that the chip is causing delays, and it just so happens the people on this thread who have their specs available all have a T7300. ;)

Well if mine gets stuck up, I'll just have to ***** to CS and get myself a T7500! As I certainly would not opt to downgrade to a crappy 2MB cache.

To us, based on our anticipated usage, the extra 1MBx2 (2MB) cache matters... We paid extra for it for a reason! If Dell wants to change our chips because they suddenly ran out and can't sell it anymore they better go with the T7500... As I too would not accept a chip with a 2MB cache... That was the sole reason I chose the T7300 over the T7100...

I wonder why it would cause delays in the US and not Canada?

It's still listed on the Canadian website Dell.ca (See attachment)

Either that or they're letting us Canadians fall victim to further delays :(

    Q4T

The only reason I bought the T7300 was to get the 4MB cache.

I will give you that it isn't a huge boost in most applications, but it does show some decent gains in quake 4, fear, and the valve particle benchmark, as well as a surprising benefit in excel. And for the same price (I assume), why wouldn't you want your extra ~5-10% performance boost?
