    Ordered 7/1, estimated 7/20

    Customer Service upgraded to free next day shipping.

    7/20... delayed to 7/27

    7/27, Customer Service gives me a free backpack, order also delayed to 8/3

    Today, e-mail recieved saying I'll have my notebook on or before 8/10 (previously they said i'd have it on or before 8/3).

    Think I could get them to upgrade my 3 year warranty to include accidental if I complain again?


    Moral of this story... don't pick midnight blue :(

    Don't push it. Be nice and willing to compromise, you might be able to get something, I don't know what but you don't want them to get angry. It's not customer service's fault for the delays so don't take out your anger on them. If you are nice and respectful, ask to possibly speak to someone higher up like a supervisor and explain to them your circumstance. They will appreciate the courtesy and possible offer you something.

    I do have to say though that Dell is really losing points in the mainstream market by pushing the product out too soon and not having ample supply of their product.

    Mine is not yet delayed, since it original delivery date was set to August 27th (I ordered on Jul 25th(!).

    Midnight blue yes.
    I got a call from Dell today saying that they are still waiting for the glass (whatever that is, please remember this was the swedish customer service and I am doing a direct translation) but that those have started to come in and as soon as they are mounted the computer ships out.

    The said that all the midnight blue covers (don't know if that was for Sweden only, or all of Europe since the building site is in Ireland) have all been delivered and there is no more back log on blue covers.

    I just had mine delayed for a second time and at this point im reordering with a different color.

    I havent gotten a 2nd delay email yet, mine is supposed to ship by wednesday 8/1, ostensibly.

    Some of you guys sound like you are getting delay emails -before- your due date rolls around...I thought they waited until the estimated date itself...

    I guess it is better to be notified earlier.

    Maybe the delay related to the glass has to do with them improving their coating-process, to decrease the "graininess' that some of the pickiest first customers were reporting.

    Looks like I'm back on track for 8/3 shipping. I've already told them I want to continue despite the delay, does this mean I need to tell them again?

    When I ordered mine, the est ship date was 8/1, now my email says 8/6...How do you get the upgraded delivery or free stuff???

    Just talk to one of the reps and complain a bit, ask for them to expedite your order and they should give you free Next Day Shipping. My first order was delayed twice with an estimated ship date of 8/10.. I reordered and upgraded and my new ship date is 8/13.

    Wow, they actually send emails saying you need to verify that the delay is acceptable, or they will cancel the order?

    Mine said "No action is required to proceed with the revised estimated ship date; however, if you do not wish to wait, you may cancel your order by emailing us at [email protected] or by calling 1-877-868-3355."


    I wonder why some people get the "Call us and confirm or we will cancel" email?

    Maybe they are trying to weed out a few people?

    They did that to me after my second delay. Said I needed to call and accept the delay or have it canceled, but they said it was a something that the government forced them to do. And I feel stupid for not remember thing organzation, Federal somethign or other.

    I got next day shipping for free.. cause I convinced them since I had it on my m1330 and i canceled it..

    Well Im hoping for a speedy shipping time like you Mr. Virus, its the reason I reordered. I also got free next day shipping since they had given it to me on my first 1520 order.

    However, it is still in the build stage. Ugh.

    Dont they need a couple days for boxing and testing?

    After a 2nd delay, they are required by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to request confirmation that you want to continue with your order.
