Just ordered a 1520 with the following specs:

    T7300 2GHz Processor
1Gig Ram (figured cheaper to upgrade myself to 2gigs)
    1680x1050 LCD Screen
    128MB GeForce Go 8400M
    120GB HDD
    DVD R/W
    85HR Battery
    Vista Home Premium
    Webcam
    Sound Blaster Audiogy
    Bluetooth/Wireless
3 Year Dell AtHome Service Warranty

Final price is $1278 before taxes/fees

Good deal? Should I have gone with the 256mb GeForce 8600?

i would definetly go with the 8600GT, you will regret it. For the small price increase, its a steal..way faster than the 8400GS

This price is after the $350 discount coupon plus 8% EPP discount. I'm not a heavy gamer which was why i went with the 8400. Now i'm tempted to get the 8600 tho.. is it that much faster? would i see a difference unless i'm playing massive 3-D gaming?

I think you should get it either way, just to safe proof yourself for the next couple of years in case some graphics intensive game does come out that you want to play. A good video card improves overall computer performance too, doesn't it?
