I just saw a post that mentioned that the highest res. screen for the 1520 is back ordered, can anyone else confirm. My notebook has been in the build stage since at least thursday (7/5), I would call to confirm myself but it is 9 o'clock. If this is indeed the case, which i believe it is, any idea how long until they get these screens in and get mine through. ;)

i talked with them yesterday, and they said that my 1420 upgraded LCD was not on backorder when i ordered it. I said "great, itll be here soon then", and the guy said he doesnt know, "theyre on backorder now"

come on dell, with a new line release you gotta have extra stock ordered!

i think it might depend on when you ordered. I ordered 7/2 and my laptop has its upgraded screen (hopefully) and is supposedly in a box already.

    gotcha.

on another note, when i ordered on 7/7/7, there was no delay indication on my LCD selection page. Days after i ordered there was.

does this mean they give me the part? or i have to wait since now its backordered?

thats BS on dell then. if i order a part, they account for it at order time right? not many days later. that would be a terrible system right?

Remember, dell has this built into your estimate, it just means your getting closer to your estimate.

Good news :) My sig was in the build stage up until yesterday, but is no longer. Actually my 1520 is now in the boxing stage as of 10:00 a.m. EST. This seems a little weird, skipping test, but i don't care because i'm getting my dell in <1 week :)
