First of all, this may be a little premature. Also, I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I half-assed my search for an answer to my inquiry.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with an 8600m GT, 2ghz Core 2 Duo, 2gigs of Ram, and a 5400rpm hd.
I recently purchased Age of Conan and have been noticing it running extra hot. I've turned all the settings down to low and it still seems to get extra warm.
I'm concerned that I'm going to melt something inside my computer, and because I'm rather computer illiterate, I figured the best thing to do = ask this community that has been so helpful to me in the past.
I don't have temperatures, but I will download speedfan to see how high they actually get. What (F or C) temperature is considered too hot? I have the laptop elevated to allow air flow from the exhaust, but without a cooling fan.
Thanks in advance!

I suggest using HWMonitor instead of Speedfan. Report back with your temps first

Yes hwmonitor will tell you the max temps reached while speedfan only tells you the current temps.

You know this may sound silly but it helps cool down a laptop for the cheap. I always place one school size eraser underneath each corner making sure not to block and vents.
It raises the laptop by about an inch to an inch and a half. It allows the laptop to get airflow underneath and it doesn't run as hot. -

Alright. I played a good hour long session of Age of Conan. It appears my HD temps didnt rise above 40-42 C, Both cores stayed below 70-75, they appeared to remain around 60-65.
There is one more paramater, Temp1, that stayed around 50-60. Could Temp 1 be the video card?
Im downloading the other program as we speak. Thanks! -
It should just say "GPU" for yout GPU temp.
